Our Story

Have you ever wanted to live your passion?

Well, that's what Romuald was able to achieve thanks to the many diplomas he accumulated.

Since the age of 18, he has traveled France and the world to participate in multisport raids. It is a team sport activity, consisting of going from point A to point B by orientation and by the sole use of different means of non-motorized locomotion (kayak, paddle, running, bicycle, ropes etc...). These sequences can be carried out over a day and for the more experienced, several days non-stop. What matters most is the team spirit, cohesion, mutual aid, solidarity which notably allowed Romuald and his team to be ranked 1st worldwide in 2020 and 2021 in the RankingInternational ARWS Adventure Race World Series. This sport had its glory years from the start with the Raids Gauloises but today it is very little publicized which does not allow it to be professional. To make it his profession, Romuald decided to obtain all the diplomas of the activities present on the multisport raids in order to be able to have full prerogatives to transmit this passion and try to make it his full-time job.

Easier said than done, it took him more than ten years to obtain them all, from federal instructors which he then transformed into State Certificates: BP JEPS and DE JEPS.

2016 Creation of the EURL ExpéNATURE with the development of a fixed nautical EcoBase on the new marina of La Ciotat.

What do we really do?

Today, we are expanding the structure every year, to be the most qualitative, and offer our customers the best possible experience.

From now on, we want to welcome a wide audience with a complete range of activities that constantly respect the environment. Because remember, these activities could not exist without the nature in which we evolve!

So, of course, first and foremost, we think of our children, who are the future of our planet. That's why we welcome schools for school and extracurricular activities, as well as holiday camps. But it's not too late for everyone to benefit from these moments of sharing, learning, and adventure. From tourists on vacation to companies looking to develop a close-knit team during an incentive immersion. But it's also for people with disabilities, like someone who is a world champion in a sport.

We are committed to making the activity accessible to everyone, especially people with disabilities. Visually impaired, hearing impaired, people with specific physical constraints... Our guides are trained in the different situations and specificities of different disabilities.

For whom?

Talking about nature is good, but doing sports is better. We won't tell you that sport is health, but often the word sport is scary because of our preconceived ideas. Take speleology, for example, little known, it may seem difficult and perilous. Yet, it is neither more nor less than an underground hike, where you will have to adapt to our environment to move forward. On the other hand, the activity is always adjustable for those who want more. So no, activities like canyoning, speleology, kayaking, mountain biking are not reserved for an elite of resourceful people who have done this all their lives. But you just need to know how to be supervised by the right people when you start!

The mix of sport and nature seems essential to us, because between us... Who prefers to run on a treadmill rather than by the sea?

It is thanks to him that Expénature exists!

TOP 2 at the World Championships of multisport RAID, it is safe to say that the company reflects his discipline.

To spot him, nothing could be simpler: he is on a bike, a kayak or even hanging from cliffs all day long. We can even say that sometimes he is six feet underground in speleo (and when he has to do the accounting)

More seriously, Romuald will be THE guide on most of your activities. Passionate about nature and its conservation, during his outings he will take the time to spread his knowledge about trees, geology, but especially his favorite field, sport in the great outdoors!

So prepare your hatches, he is the pro you need, but you are his reason for existing!

Well, someone has to take care of the paperwork.

Because yes, Expénature is not just kayaking for tourists in the summer.

Justine took care of the base for 3 consecutive summers and now she takes care of the more hidden part of Expénature. The website, the booking platforms... She is also the scaredy-cat of the team. She goes on an adventure, but not too much though.

More seriously, Justine is probably the one you will have first contact with if you have any questions, are looking for a corporate seminar, or an activity to do...

Just to give you an idea, she's never without her hat (sun and 30 degrees all year round!), she lives in a van all year round, and loves giving nicknames to the objects at the base…

More seriously, Raphaëlle is the embodiment of the happy, smiling person; she loves what she does, but above all she loves people! So there's nothing more pleasant than feeling that in the activities she leads.
