Description of the private kayak trip in Cassis
Half-day schedule
We'll start with an introduction to the whole group, then prepare and launch our kayak. We'll then get down to business with a paddling lesson on land. This will also serve as a muscle warm-up. We don life jackets and waterproof skirts (depending on weather conditions). Then it's off to the water to get into the boats!
In the meantime, your guide will explain essential techniques to help you make the most of your outing and learn more about sea kayaking.
A typical itinerary, depending on the level of the group and current weather conditions... We start from Port-Miou, the cove that is also a port. We then wait for Port-Pin and Port-Miou. In between, weather permitting, we can explore the caves and coastline of Cassis.
Once again, the advantage of going with a guide is that he or she will ensure your safety. But above all, he'll enliven your outing with explanations about the environment and the history of Cassis and its calanques.

We'll take time for a swim and a picnic in the most emblematic calanque. La calanque d'en vau.

Age and level required
Anyone aged 12 and over who can swim can take part. For younger swimmers (6 years and over), a departure from La Ciotat is preferable: fewer waves, no kayak portage...
The sporting level of the activity adapts to the level of the group! Don't worry, whether you're a novice or an expert, we'll be able to offer you suitable alternatives. With regular breaks, we'll give priority to exploration and environmental discovery over physical feats.
However, bear in mind that to reach the sea at Cassis, there will be a 200m kayak portage up and down...
The guide is the sole judge of the program, which may be modified at any time for safety reasons (physical level of participants, weather conditions, etc.). You must not have any medical contraindications to taking part in this activity.

Unlike seat-on-top kayaks, which we offer for rental at our base in La Ciotat. For our supervised outings, we use our real sea kayaks, which offer a premium experience that's faster, more comfortable and suited to a wide range of conditions. Thanks to their enclosed design, paddlers stay dry, even after a mistral gust, avoiding contact with cold water (sometimes 14°C even in summer). These kayaks enable you to cover more distance with less effort, while ensuring safety and stability, even in rough seas. What's more, the supervision of an expert guide guarantees a safe and rewarding discovery of the seascape, accessible all year round.
